Magnetic
Where
Typically used for locating iron ores such as magnetite and hematite and as basic magnetic mapping of the target area. Method can be applied in exploration related geological structure investigations as well. Method is based on measuring the magnetization of the minerals. Magnetics can also be applied to locating cultural targets such as metal pipes.
Advantages
Magnetic method is effective for structural geology investigations on the areas of ore potential. Method is also effective for locating and delimiting the magnetizing deposits for the use of following exploration acts, e.g. sampling and core drilling.
Surveys
Magnetic survey is passive, and therefore only the receiver in needed. Surveys are carried out on pre-designed lines, as point per point or continuous measurements. Two magnetometers are used, one as a stationary base station and the other for the survey.
Equipment
For magnetic measurements, we use durable and reliable Gemsys GSM-19W (Overhauser proton) magnetometers, which have become the industry standard.
In addition to durability, the device has the advantage of a continuous measurement function (walkmag), which continuously stores location data, gps time and the total value of the magnetic field at a specified interval. The measurement produces much more accurate data much faster than is achieved by measuring station by position.
However, if necessary, you can ask us for alternative equipment. Geovisor has excellent connections to equipment rental companies and an extensive cooperation network. Our staff has extensive experience in various geophysical equipment.
Data
Client will always receive quality assessed raw data from the surveys. Additionally, we provide the data processing and interpretation of the results. Reporting according to request and introduction to the survey results will be done as requested.
Magnetic profiles, maps and 3D models are created as requested.
