Electrical Resistivity Tomography (ERT)
Where
Often used for analyzing soils for thickness or conductivity, most commonly in environmental investigations. Can also be done in large scale as an ore exploration or structural analysis method. In both large and small-scale work commonly done together with IP.
Advantages
ERT reacts to natural conductivity variance (ores, water bearing structures) but can also be applied to man- made sources of conductivity variance, such as contamination.
Surveys
A spread of electrodes is spread to the ground and connected to transmitter and receiver before measuring. Reachable depth of measurement depends on survey setup and ground conditions and is interconnected with resolution of results. Various survey configurations are applied and always designed based on the investigation target.
Equipment
The equipment used is usually Abem Terrameter LS 2 or similar equipment from competing manufacturers. Geovisor has excellent connections to equipment rental companies and an extensive cooperation network, so we are sure to find the right equipment for your needs. Our staff has extensive experience in various geophysical equipment.
Data
Client will always receive quality assessed raw data from the surveys. Additionally, we provide the data processing and interpretation of the results. Reporting according to request and introduction to the survey results will be done as requested.
The final product of ERT method is usually 2D speudosections or inversion results or 3D voxel models of the target.
