Seismic

Where

Seismic reacts to changes in seismic velocity (a function of hardness and density) of materials. It can be applied in varying scales, from small to massive. Typical targets include analyzing soil thicknesses and locating bedrock fracture zones. Can also be applied as a monitoring method.

Advantages

Out of all the geophysical methods, seismic provides the most confident results for bedrock depth. It’s also one of the few methods that penetrates almost all materials (except air), enabling it to be applied to relatively deep targets.

Surveys

Seismic measurements require spreading a number of receivers (geophones) to ground, connecting them to seismograph, creating vibration and measuring the echoes. Topography of the line needs to be measured as well.

Equipment

Our main seismograph currently is ABEM’s 48-channel Terraloc pro. The vibration can be created with either explosives or various mechanical sources. Appropriate measurement setup and sources will be selected according to the target.

Data

Client will always receive quality assessed raw data from the surveys. Additionally, we provide the data processing and interpretation of the results. Reporting according to request and introduction to the survey results will be done as requested.

Typical results for seismic are sections, maps or cad files describing the features that the client wishes us to analyze.
